課程概述 |
過去幾十年來資訊科技對於人類文明與社會經濟的進展扮演了關鍵的角色,我們的日常生活離不開資訊科技的許多相關應用,例如全球資訊網、搜尋引擎、電子商務等等。
資訊應用系統的成功往往有賴於其先進的技術,然而,隨著資訊基礎建設的普及、技術的成熟與開發工具的完備,技術已經不再是一個應用系統成功與否的主要關鍵,而是這個應用系統的創新性。例如,YouTube的成功在於它的創新理念“視訊分享”,而不是它的多媒體串流技術 (這項技術在YouTube創立時已經相當成熟)。 Facebook如此迷人,不是因為它的系統比其他社會網絡服務先進,而是因為它找到了一種創新的聯繫方式,讓使用者緊密的結合在一起。
但是,如何激發創新與創意?一個可行方法,是了解各種創新的概念,並思考他們是如何產生的。本課程的目的即是要向學生們介紹資訊科技的一些創新與創意,激發學生去思考新的問題,找到創意的解決方法,並進一步創業,最終成為一名成功的企業家。

課程目標 |
Information Technology has played an important role for the advances of our society in the past decades. Building information system applications used to require a deep understanding of the technology and solid skills in programming. However, as the technology becomes mature and has penetrated all aspects of our daily life, technology is no longer the key issue for an application to succeed, but rather the innovation of the application. For example, the success of YouTube lies in its innovative idea “video sharing”, not in its streaming technology---which was rather well known when the company was founded. Facebook is so attractive not because its system is more advanced than its peers, but because it found a way to connect people and keep them attached to one another.
But how should we cultivate innovation? One possible way is to study various innovative ideas and think how they were created. The objective of this course is therefore to introduce students with a number of creative ideas in Information Technology, intrigue them to think new problems, and encourage them to venture and eventually become a successful entrepreneur.
